Final band is booked!

We are very very very happy to confirm the final band for our gig on August 11th, it is the rather fantastic T-Shirt Weather from Durham. They are a rather nifty trio who mix up indie with pop and punk, a bit like a less miserable and more garage-punk Smiths if you will.  That’s the gig all booked up then!  There’s more info on our gigs page about the whole shin-dig but if you do have any questions that aren’t covered in our FAQs then just get in touch.

In the meantime have a listen to the whole T-Shirt Weather album below then buy or download it from them here.

Jimmy Islip & The Ghosts for August 11th!

We are delighted to confirm that the second band playing our August 11th gig will be Leeds’ own Jimmy Islip & The Ghosts. Jimmy has played in some legendary Leeds bands, toured the world in them, not to mention his contribution to the Leeds music scene as one of the brains behind the institution that is the Out Of Spite festival.

But never mind all of that, lets just focus on Jimmy and his new backing band The Ghosts (who between them number some pretty special local artists!). Playing haunting americana but with a real Yorkshire influence and sound, Jimmy’s new album ‘The Wild West Riding’ is out now so pick up a copy and learn the words before the gig.

Have a gander’s at thus video of Jimmy performing solo and prepare for the announcement of our headliner soon!

First act c.o.n.f.i.r.m.e.d!

We are rather happy indeed to announce the first act for Aug 11th is the incredible Helen Chambers. Helen hails from York and plays a lovely and heart warming blend of folk, country and Americana.

You might have seen her recently on tour as part of the Survival tour or perhaps at Shepherds Bush Empire performing with Chuck Ragan (Hot Water Music) or dueting with Dan Andriano from Alkaline Trio?

Here’s a recent live video of Helen to give you an idea of what to expect. More announcements soon!

The action is go!

OK, so this is happening then! We have the first gig booked for August 11th at Wharf Chambers in Leeds and if all of the bands who are planned confirm then we will have one heck of a line-up to kick this thing off with. We’re also in talks to have a really exciting couple of stalls at the event and a few other little bits and pieces that are all just a click of the mouse away from being confirmed. So keep the date in your diaries and more information will be revealed very very soon.
